GT3 Lavaredo UCI Gravel World Series: marathon‑style elevation profile and the smooth flow of a true gravel course

The registration fee changes on 31 May: don’t miss the chance to ride in the Dolomites and secure your race number for the only Italian round of the UCI Gravel World Series.
GT3 Lavaredo is the only gravel event in Italy that allows you to qualify for the UCI Gravel European and World Championships.
Here you don’t just take part: you ride, you manage your pace, you feel the terrain, and you immediately understand why this is one of the most anticipated bike events of the season. And, above all, you can race with either a gravel bike or an MTB.
And if you’re thinking about joining, this is truly the right moment: the registration fee changes on 31 May, and every day that passes is one day less to secure your spot in one of the most intense gravel experiences in the Dolomites. Don’t let the opportunity slip away—lock in your race number now and start imagining your GT3 Lavaredo UCI Gravel World Series.
Long, rideable climbs and an elevation profile more “gravel‑friendly” than it appears
The GT3 Lavaredo UCI Gravel World Series course was tested for us by European Gravel Champion (Master category) Mauro Bettin.
And his words are the best guide to understand what awaits you:
“All the climbs are long but rideable; everyone can set their own pace.”
“The descents are long but not technical: you have time to recover.”
The elevation gain is significant, yes, but more accessible than in many gravel races where steep ramps follow one another without pause, forcing repeated efforts above threshold.
Here the effort is continuous but manageable—closer to a marathon than to a cross‑country race: less explosiveness, more pacing.
Gravel bike or MTB? The choice is yours
You can race with either a gravel bike or an MTB.
And that’s not a minor detail.
-With a gravel bike, you gain speed on cycle paths and straight sections.
-With an MTB, you enjoy more comfort on descents and rougher terrain.
The course is designed for the gravel bike, but it does not penalize you if you choose an MTB.
It’s a rare balance you can experience only by taking part in GT3 Lavaredo UCI Gravel World Series.
Is the GT3 Lavaredo gravel course too technical?
Absolutely not.
The main descents are not technical.
The final ramps require attention, but nothing a gravel bike cannot handle.
Is GT3 Lavaredo a race for a select few?
No.
It’s a race for those who want to challenge themselves without overextending, for those who love the mountains, and for those seeking a gravel event that is also a journey.
